Line of spearmen, heavy cav sweeps up the flank and menaces. After target breaks, pistoliers pursue while the knights reform and move on.įailing that, the classic hammer and anvil approach from previous TW games is fine. Pistoliers flank and shoot them up from behind, or even charge in as well. The Pistoliers draw stuff back, and then the knights charge into it. In Empire, I generally have a couple of units of pistoliers backed up by some knights/Reiksguard. Don't charge spearmen or dwarf units from the front, but almost anything else is worth a big charge into, give it a few seconds to inflict casulties, then back to avoid gettng bogged down, and charge again.

They often aren't that fast, so be careful of getting dragged away or surrounded. Heavy cav used to crush units on their own.

Missile cav, for all of the above, and shooting up light cav. Light cav for flanking assaults on weak units, going after archers or war engines.
